Axles of the Herbst appliance can be directly attached to the stainless steel crowns on the maxillary first molars and mandibular first bicuspids. Soldering a lingual frame to mandibular first molars adds stability. A Tran palatal bar, RPE screw, and arch wire tubes can be added.
