The root elevator with a working part of 2.5 mm is suitable for gentle tooth extraction. Before extracting a tooth, it is advisable for the root elevator to loosen the ligaments and periosteum around the tooth. Once the tooth is loosened, it can then be extracted either with the root elevator or forceps. This prior separation enables a minimally invasive extraction.
